The Shop

At Redtec, we combine hands-on craftsmanship with modern equipment to support prototyping, machining, and fabrication projects. This page highlights the shop’s core capabilities and tools, so you can see exactly how we bring ideas to working parts.

Design for Manufacturing

We bring extensive experience in machine design and fabrication processes. Using modern 3D design software allows us to share designs virtually, ensuring your intent is captured clearly.

  • Efficient, accurate part drawings ready for approval for machining or cutting

  • Collaboration with your engineers and designers to refine early concepts into manufacturable parts

  • Support for files from SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, SketchUp, or 2D DXF/DWG formats (AutoCAD)

Machining, Cutting, Bending, and Printing

Our shop runs a range of industrial machining equipment for both one-off and small-batch work.

  • CNC Milling: 3- and 4-axis on Haas SMM2 (16” x 20” work area)

  • CNC Routing: CAMaster Panther with 5’ x 10’ x 10” envelope — for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and wood in sheet, tube, and extrusion form with custom aluminum grid table for precise fixturing and vacuum hold down for sheet work

  • Manual Milling: First LC 20 - 5 hp precision knee mill with 10” x 36” x 18” travels

  • Manual Turning: Kent KLS 1440 - 14” x 40” precision engine lathe with Stahlhalter Multifix quick change tooling system

  • Surface Grinding: Chevalier FSG-618 with 6” x 18” travels

  • Saw Cutting: Ellis 1600 horizontal band saw - 10” x 8” capacity at 90 degrees

  • Bending: Allsteel 4-25 press brake with 25 ton x 48” capacity

  • Tool Grinding: Alexander 2CG single-lip cutter grinder for custom lathe and milling profiles

  • Belt Grinding: Nexus 2 x 72 belt grinder for cool edge shaping and deburring
